Day 1—
Welcoming Traditions & Sacred Landscapes
Arrive at Masset Airport, where you’re greeted with coffee and light refreshments before diving into Haida artistry. Visit private carving sheds to witness totem pole creation up close, then explore local galleries featuring traditional and contemporary Haida art. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic hike to the blowholes on North Beach, followed by a moderate trek up Tow Hill - a historic Haida landmark with stunning coastal views. End the day at Hiellen Longhouse Village, home to the tallest standing Haida crest pole.
On day two, start at the Haida Heritage Centre with a guided totem pole tour, followed by a visit to the Saahlinda Naay Museum, showcasing ancient treasures and masterful craftsmanship. After browsing a curated Haida gift shop, join a guided interpretive walk on the GuulGa Siiwaay K’iiwaay Trail to learn the land’s deep cultural significance. Conclude your day with a traditional Haida meal in the home of a respected Elder, an intimate and unforgettable cultural experience.
Day 3 & 4—
Art, Culture, and Coastal Adventures
Travel by boat to K’uuna Llnagaay (Skedans), a sacred ancient Haida village on Louise Island. Once a thriving community of longhouses and towering totem poles, this remarkable site is now stewarded by the Haida Watchmen, who will guide you through its history, stories, and enduring cultural significance.
On Day 4, start your day with a scenic walk through towering old growth on the Golden Spruce Trail, the legendary home of Kiid K’iiyas, the Golden Spruce. Then explore the Port Clements Museum to learn about Haida Gwaii’s pioneer past. Continue to Tlell, where you’ll browse local galleries inspired by the island’s landscapes and heritage. A special highlight: a visit to a one-of-a-kind private tree house, available only to our guests. Before dinner, enjoy another private studio visit, surrounded by a serene Japanese garden with panoramic views of Bearskin Bay - a perfect place to reflect and capture final photos of your journey.
Day 5—
Nature, History, and Farewells
Your final morning begins with a visit to the iconic Balance Rock, a striking natural formation perched improbably atop its narrow base. It’s a place that invites both quiet reflection and stunning photography—especially as the early light casts long shadows across the surrounding landscape. From there, you’ll walk a short distance to observe an active eagle’s nest, offering a rare chance to see these magnificent birds up close as they tend to their home. After taking in the moment, you’ll continue north, carrying the last impressions of the region with you as you make your way toward your departure point.
